The Premier American Brand for Paint and Colour

We've been dreaming in colour since 1883 - and we've been preserving, protecting, and beautifying North America's structures all of that time. Unlike many of our competitors, we actually manufacture our own colourants and resins exclusively in the United States. At these laboratories and manufacturing facilities, our scientists and technicians work to exceed the already superior application, performance properties, and environmental safety of our products.

Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability

We are committed to responsible sourcing and continuously seek opportunities to improve our procurement procedures and expand the portfolio of businesses we work with.

Supplier Qualification and Auditing

Benjamin Moore maintains a robust supplier auditing program focused on financial stability, supply risk, reputation, safety, quality, and corporate social responsibility. All key suppliers receive an initial audit before first use and are periodically selected for audit based on a risk analysis that encompasses the criteria above, among others. Audit findings are reviewed with the supplier at a closeout meeting. Areas for improvement are noted, and a corrective action plan is implemented if necessary.

Plans are reviewed at least quarterly until corrective actions are complete. If an audit finding is high risk and cannot be corrected to Benjamin Moore’s satisfaction, we begin the process of moving that business to a new supplier or putting preventive actions in place to mitigate risk.

Conflict
Minerals
Policy

We also comply with Berkshire's Conflict Minerals Policy Statement. The policy statement commits Berkshire Hathaway and its subsidiaries to comply with the Conflict Minerals Rule issued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and work with our suppliers to ensure the responsible sourcing of materials containing "conflict minerals" - the ores of tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold.

Environmental Management

Water Management & Recycling

Benjamin Moore actively seeks out new and better ways to minimize environmental impact. In 2025, we redirected close to 10 million litres of wash water and wash solvent into low-grade products, keeping these materials out of the waste stream. In addition, the company recycled approximately 500,000 cans of paint, offering alternative uses for our premium products, helping to lessen our overall footprint.

Across our distribution centres, site‑wide recycling programs to reduce waste, including systems for wooden pallets, corrugated cardboard, shrink wrap, and tin cans.

Energy Efficiency & Climate Impact

Several of our facilities employ a solar field to offset electric usage within the facility, and many of our locations have been converted to LED lighting to further reduce energy consumption. We continue to explore additional opportunities to use less energy at our facilities as an ongoing review of our operations.

Fostering an Inclusive Workplace

Benjamin Moore remains steadfast in our commitment to cultivating an environment where all are provided the tools and opportunities to thrive in the workplace.
